The idea arose when my best friend Brittanie mentioned coming to Seattle for work. She owns BE Beauty Salon and wanted to style hair for an editorial. We brainstormed concepts and I knew just the team.

Leafly’s LA Budtender Sesh Recap

On Thursday budtenders, business owners and cannabis connoisseurs convened in Los Angeles for the Leafly Series Budtender Sesh. The event included prominent industry speakers, swag bags, snacks and an after party sponsored by Marley Natural.

Doors opened at 2 PM for attendees to network. Marley Natural brand ambassadors mingled with guests to answer questions and provide samples. I even caught Zach Fernandez, the artist behind Hollyweed, lighting up Marley Green.

A huge thank you to the ladies of PUSH Mag for organizing such a lovely ladies dinner. This didn’t feel like an industry event, but instead a meet-up of like-minded women.

These monthly dinners stemmed from a need for alternative female-oriented spaces.  Founder and Editor-in-Chief, Abigail Ross, started the dinners as a way to bring all the industry women she’s met into a single space. Her  hope? “We could find female allies and potential creative collaborators,” she said.

I rode the manual elevator to the High Times office to meet my friend Christian. He introduced me to the team and gave a quick tour of the space. Next, we took dabs before touring the High Times x Green Street space.

Driving High — Don’t Risk It

I light up in pretty exotic locales. The one place I won’t? Behind the wheel. Cannabis impacts everyone differently, but driving high is not worth the risk.

From DUI’s to manslaughter charges, the State doesn’t hold back. With cannabis DUI fines exceeding $10,000, it’s a revenue generator. Additionally, a 2015 Washington Traffic Safety Commission report saw an increase in fatal crashes where drivers tested positive for THC. Testing for THC is still a grey area, so it’s better to play it safe than sorry.
