Take a Tour of Mt. Baker Gardens

A while back I found myself specifically not allowed at an i502 event. I was so bummed because after more than year of COVID, I looked forward to connecting with the cannabis community again. When I posted about my experience on social media, Mt. Baker Gardens, one of the event’s sponsors, reached out. They didn’t know about this treatment so extended an offer to come tour their facility.

I’ve met the Mt. Baker Gardens team at past events and always enjoyed their energy, so gladly accepted the offer. This indoor grow produces award-winning flower, pre-rolls, infused pre-rolls and concentrates. However, if you smoke solventless extracts, their hash rosin is a must-try. Paris Cannabis Co Throws One Helluva Halloweed Party

Paris Cannabis Co’s Light Up Halloweed Party

Over the last seven years, I’ve attended my fair share of cannabis events. Only a few have been blasé and most are a great time. But then there’s events like Paris Cannabis Co‘s Light Up Halloweed party, which will go down as one for the books.

Location is everything and I loved their Halloween decor. Good beats from DJ Sarkis Mikael set the vibe. A high quality guest list brought positive energy. And finally, no event is complete without a ton of cannabis. I connected with several Washington brands and lots of wonderful humans, for an all around unforgettable evening.

Are we in a Mental Health crisis?

October is Mental Health Awareness Month. October 6 is National Depression Screening Day. October 10 is World Mental Health Day. With all the focus on mental health, you’d think society thriving. Instead, Americans struggle more than ever.

For over two years the pandemic isolated us. Political polarization divides us. Inflation contributes to financial stress and the endless scroll of social media leaves society in a constant state of comparison. Is it any surprise we are mentally sick?

Why I Moved to an Illegal State

June 29, 2022
illegal state Idaho cannabis

During the pandemic, my priorities shifted so I took the plunge and moved to an illegal state

Hello blog readers, it’s been a while! After seven years in my home state, I said “so long” to cannabis-friendly Washington and made the move to an illegal state. Now I’m off to get highdaho in Idaho.

I landed in Wallace, Idaho, a historic mining town with a population of (now) 961 people. It’s nestled in the Silver Valley between two ski resorts, Silver Mountain and Lookout Pass. The entire town could be a movie set. In fact, they filmed Dante’s Peak here.

I passed through Wallace a couple times on past trips, but something about the town kept drawing me in. It’s quiet. The air is fresh. I can leave my bike on the porch without a crackhead stealing it. Small town living is the life.

Hot Tub Boating with Airo Brands

Airo Brands is the Buzz in Washington State

Years ago, maybe four or five, my friend Masha told me about a new vape company. She made a dirty joke about the pen vibrating, but in all reality it hit like a champ. That was my first introduction to Airo Brands and one I still remember to this day.

At the time, it felt like revolutionary vape technology. Magnetic cartridges paired with branded batteries in a convenient travel case we hadn’t seen before. Over the course of the next few years I often vaped these oils, whether by myself or with friends. So when Airo Brands reached out to partner for Washington State content, I couldn’t wait to buzz around South Lake Union in a hot tub boat.

Girls Day at Lake Ingalls with PLUGplay

October 14, 2021

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun with PLUGplay in Washington State

PLUGplay takes fun seriously. So when they reached out to parter on their Washington State launch I didn’t hesitate to go hiking. One of my favorite things to do is play in the mountains. The Pacific Northwest is packed with scenic smoke spots and cannabis keeps me plugged in on the trail.

I called up my friend Keti, a fellow wander babe, who suggested Lake Ingalls. Its vibrant fall colors pair well with pot, which amplifies the epic views. We filled our bags, loaded the car and definitely couldn’t forget the plugs for an unforgettable day with PLUGplay. As an added bonus, Sarah—a fellow cannabis creative—just moved from Michigan to Portland, so she met up with us too for her first Washington State hike.

Why Vaccine Mandates are Medical Segregation

September 28, 2021
vaccine mandates are medical segregation

It’s time to speak out against vaccine mandates and medical segregation

segregation — noun

  1. the act or process of segregating : the state of being segregated
  2. the separation or isolation of a race, class, or ethnic group by enforced or voluntary residence in a restricted area, by barriers to social intercourse, by separate educational facilities, or by other discriminatory means

It’s been 18 months since my first COVID-19 post. Over the last year-and-a-half, I’ve been mocked, doxxed and canceled for my views towards the pandemic. It’s almost surreal to look back and realize my worst fears have come to fruition. “Two weeks to flatten the curve” has morphed into “papers please” for basic freedoms.

It’s why all people, regardless of health status, need to speak out against vaccine mandates and medical segregation.

Smoke Like a Queen with Royal Blunts

There’s something about smoking a blunt that makes me feel like a boss. I’m not sure if it’s the cigar-like aspect, copious amounts of cannabis or memories of rolling up with friends in college. Either way, when Royal Blunts reached out to try their new palm leaf wraps I couldn’t wait to smoke like royalty in the vintage bathroom of my dreams.

I’ll be the first to admit. I am terrible and rolling blunts. Splitting the wrap, worrying if it’ll be too dry, slobbering all over a horribly wrapped tobacco leaf—it usually never smokes well. And don’t even get me started on the smell of musty tobacco in your house or apartment after. It’s why I couldn’t wait to try Royal Blunts’ new Palm Leaf wraps. They make the whole blunt rolling process so easy you could do it in your bathtub. So that’s just what we did.

Welcome Huxton to Washington State

Huxton Brings their Good-Time Providers to Washington State

Several years ago I discovered Huxton. This Arizona-based brand kicked off their entry into the cannabis space with stunning, chic accessories and to this day, I still use their backpack. As the brand evolved, they’ve since launched a line of pre-rolls and I couldn’t be more excited to see them in Washington State.

To celebrate, I coordinated a shoot in the loft of my dreams with talented photographer and friend Keti. We smoked joint after joint of these perfectly burning half-gram pre-rolls. Keep reading for more about Huxton’s Washington launch and why I love this brand even more.

#Throwback to my visit at this medical-grade, Bellingham indoor grow. Mt. Baker Gardens is known for their beautiful buds and infused pre-rolls, but it’s their solventless extracts I’m especially fond of. With genetics like Sour Apple Gelato, Cherry Runtz and Strawberries & Cream, it’s no surprise they’re an award-winning farm.

I want to give a huge thank you to @bryanofcannabis for the facility tour and hospitality. Such a great experience, the cannabis community is thankful for smiling faces like his.

Throwback to chilly mornings, hot springs and CBD Throwback to chilly mornings, hot springs and CBD pre-rolls in one of my favorite Idaho towns.

In the early 1900s, men used to come and wash up here after working in the mines all day. Not only do stories like this make me appreciative for hot running water, but it highlights how incredibly hard people worked to make ends meet. This part of Idaho is COLD, and I can't imagine what it was like to get out of a tub when it's -10 degrees outside. Swipe for a glimpse of the bath house in the third photo.

Did you know Idaho has the most useable hot springs in America? 🌲🙏🏼💧 #cannabess

Today is #ElectionDay and while many people will t Today is #ElectionDay and while many people will tell you to vote, I ask you to think first. No seriously, think while you can, before government, Big Tech and the mainstream media flag your thoughts with fact checks and misinformation warnings.

Do you like paying $4.50 on a gallon of gas? Is anyone happier to spend 13 percent more on groceries? Does it feel good to look at your declining stock portfolio or IRA? I’d be willing to bet the answer for all three is a resounding “no!”

Now keep that in mind as you head to the polls or drop off your ballot.

But don’t get too excited. This is not an endorsement for Republicans.

The inflation we see today is a direct result of Democrats and Republicans. Our national debt increased almost $9 trillion in three years due to fiat currency printed by the Federal Reserve at the behest of both parties. American taxpayers have repeatedly been forced to fund massive wealth transfers to major corporations disguised as “bailouts.”

During COVID, Trump implemented the initial lockdowns as Americans parroted “two weeks to flatten the curve." Then Biden went full fledged fascist (not an Ad Hominem attack, seriously look up the definition) to mandate vaccines, fire employees who refused, segregate people over their health status and work with social media companies to silence dissenting voices. Both parties used the pandemic as a massive power grab.

Many people think voting will solve today’s problems. The reality is, democracy is a popularity contest and the winner controls your life. So many people who vote can barely take care of themselves. Why should these people have any say over my life or how I live it?

This is why I believe government should be as small as possible. It’s why I advocate for voluntaryism and the non-aggression principle. I know my views are unconventional to some, but at the end of the day it’s the only political ideology that doesn’t impose force onto others.

So before you vote today, please think. Think while you still can. And if you don’t know who to vote for, do everyone a favor and don’t vote. 🗳️✌🏼🇺🇸 #cannabess

October is Mental Health Awareness Month. National October is Mental Health Awareness Month. National Depression Screening Day is October 6. October 10 is World Mental Health Day. With all the focus on mental health, you’d think society is thriving. Instead, Americans struggle more than ever.

For over two years the pandemic isolated us. Political polarization divides us. Inflation contributes to financial stress and the endless scroll of social media leaves society in a constant state of comparison. Is it any surprise we are mentally ill?

Antidepressant use is on the rise. Between 2015 and 2018, an estimated 13.2 percent of adults age 18 and older took antidepressants, according to a study from the CDC. SSRIs like Zoloft, Prozac and Lexapro rake in billions annually. And it’s estimated the global depression drug sales will top $18 billion by 2024. Your mental struggles mean major profits for Big Pharma.

Think about it. When is the last time you heard a commercial for meditation or physical exercise? Why don’t doctors encourage healthy diets and adequate sleep? Because healthy people aren’t profit.

@hangovergang recently rapped how society romanticizes mental health struggles, and at times it feels that way. This isn’t to say people shouldn’t speak out about depression or anxiety. They should, but don’t build your entire personality around it and definitely don’t use it as a crutch for the mistreatment of others.

There are plenty of ways to improve mental health without pills. For me, I love a good weed bath. Throw in some flowers, spark up a joint and decompress.

In this age of information, we have all the tools at our disposal to improve mental health. There’s no reason for society to be perpetually sick, beyond increasingly predatory PR campaigns from pharmaceutical giants. We are incredibly blessed with so-called “first world problems” like connectivity, capitalism and an abundance of cannabis. It’s time we focus on that, instead of our mental health struggles.

Yesterday @POTUS issued a proclamation stating U.S Yesterday @POTUS issued a proclamation stating U.S. citizens and lawful residents who have federal cannabis possession charges will be pardoned. So how many people will be freed from jail?

ZERO. “There is no individual currently in federal prisons solely for simple possession of marijuana,” according to the @nypost.

While the pardon will improve lives of 6,500 people, @prisonpolicy notes there are roughly 400,000 people currently incarcerated for drug offenses. Biden’s order also only applies to legal citizens and residents, and doesn’t apply to possession charges before 1992.

To put this pardon into perspective, in 2020 there were 350,149 total marijuana arrests. Of those, 32,357 were for trafficking and sales, while 317,793 were for possession. It’s why part of @JoeBiden’s proclamation included calling on governors to pardon some of the 146,000 drug offenders currently in state prisons.

Yesterday I saw people quick to thank President Biden for his pardon, but in reality, this is Stockholm Syndrome. Why are we thanking one of America’s biggest proponents of the drug war? Biden’s ’94 Crime Bill and @vp’s cannabis prosecutions as San Francisco DA put thousands of people in jail for this plant. Instead of thanking our abuser, Americans should be saying, “It’s about damn time to undo the damage YOU caused by perpetuating the War on Drugs.”

So what are your thoughts about Biden’s pardon? Do you think he has good intentions or is this about garnering votes for midterms while detracting from Hunter Biden’s potential tax crimes charge? 🍁🤷🏻‍♀️ #Cannabess

Oh hi Instagram, nice to see you again. Honestly Oh hi Instagram, nice to see you again.

Honestly, it’s felt so hard to post lately. I’ve been L-I-V-I-N’ and absolutely loving life this summer. After wrapping my workdays, the last thing I want to do is stare at a screen, especially when there’s trails to skate, lakes to paddle and fields to play dress-up in.

It’s felt even less motivating to publish content when @Meta forces you to create Reels to grow. So alas, here’s a Reel to tap into the algorithm.

I had so much fun with @theredclutch in town. We ventured up one of the cayons. I vaped my favorite flowers in wildflowers. And we shot photos at golden hour full creative freedom. It’s shoots like this which reignite my love for content creation, regardless of Reels or an algorithm.

Who else can relate to these feelings? And how do you overcome the rut of #Reels?

When #FourthOfJuly becomes Fourth of Jul-HIGH! It’s no secret this holiday is centered around alcohol which leads to blackouts and bad choices. It’s one of the many things I love about cannabis. I can smoke all day and still remember the day’s events, it doesn’t make you throw up (unless you’ve eaten too many edibles), and there’s no morning-after regret due to drunken choices.

It’s wild to me that in 2022 alcohol is so widely accepted but in many states, it’s still vilified. So today, celebrate your freedom and spark up a fatty. After all, our Founding Fathers didn’t fight the British over a three-percent tax on import tea so the federal government could outlaw a flower. 🧨🍁🇺🇸 #cannabess

While in my hometown last weekend @courtneyjette reached out to see if I wanted to take photos. I always love working with this talented photographer and stylist, so said "heck yes" to a summer-inspired shoot.

In less than 24 hours Courtney pulled together a couple patriotic looks and brought this vintage roller girl vibe to life. I've been going to "adult skate night" at the Richland roller rink the last few months and man, this outfit really has me itching to go back. I was also told I look like a character on @strangerthingstv, which wasn't intended with the styling but I'll take as a compliment.

While we didn't see Vecna, we did get absolutely annihilated by mosquitos, which might also explain why I'm itching... Either way, 14 mosquito bites are well worth it for our roller skate summer collab. I haven't been in front of the lens lately so this adventure is exactly what I needed to get those creative juices flowing again.

Where are you smoking for the holiday weekend and any tips to keep mosquitos away? 🛼🇺🇸 #cannabess
