explore more — smoke flowers at frozen waterfalls
On the hunt for holiday content, Taylor, Kate and I took our greens to Franklin Falls. We slid over the river and through the woods to shoot photos for Northwest Cannabis Solutions.
A mile into our hike we stopped for a smoke sesh at the river’s edge. The red cabin made for a very northwest ambiance. We popped open our Legends tin and lit up a Super Lemon Haze pre-roll.
After smoking an energizing sativa, we made our way to Franklin Falls. Due to extreme temperatures, the falls formed massive icicles. Thrill seekers used ice picks to climb the falls!
Franklin Falls is a favorite for entry to expert-level hikers. This two mile trek is a modest 400 foot elevation gain. The trail is well maintained with handrails, rock steps and bridges. The falls are actually of three separate tiers totaling 135 feet, but only the last fall, at 70 feet, is visible from the trail.
I will definitely hike this trail again come summer. I spotted several pools perfect for pictures. With all the epic locations, we might have to make a day of it.
Pro Tip: If you hit up Franklin Falls, arrive early. This parking lot gets packed!
