Why I love Bond-Eye Swim
I love swimwear. In fact, love is an understatement. It’s an essential part of my wardrobe. I buy at least two swimsuits a summer and have a whole bin full of bikinis. Skimpy bottoms, sequins, vintage mesh and so much more. However, I’m also quite a stickler when it comes to my water wear. I am known to scour the web for hours in search of the perfect suit. So when I first learned of Bond-Eye Swim and their one-size-fits-all approach, you could color me skeptical.
I’m a small-chested gal. Would a stretchy suit work on my body? The models ranged in size and one seemed to match my dimensions, so I figured why not? Well… LET. ME. TELL. YOU.
Bond-Eye Swim instantly became one of my favorite swimwear brands. The first thing I notice is how incredibly soft the material is. It feels like butter. In the summer, I practically live in my Sydney top and Sinner bottoms, shown here. But what I love most is how well this suit holds up for all my outdoor activities — white water rafting, hikes to hot springs, paddleboarding, gardening, and more.
You won’t believe the story behind this Bond-Eye Swim bikini
Last summer I packed my Bond-Eye suit for a hot springs trip. I hate losing stuff when I travel, so like everything in “its place.” Heck, I usually carry at least three cameras and two tripods, so keeping track of swimwear seems pretty easy. Alas, I somehow got home and couldn’t find my bikini anywhere, and I mean anywhere.
I intentionally wanted to style this suit for a shoot. It matched my Pendleton towel and a stash box I needed to photograph. I didn’t understand how my bikini could disappear and I didn’t want to wait to find it. So I did what any rational creative would do. I purchased the exact same suit, but in a different color, in case my old one turned up again. Then I filed it as a business expense because, after all, I planned to shoot in it.
Low and behold, a couple weeks after my new red suit arrived, I found my khaki one stuffed in a props bag. So now I have two, which is fine because I couldn’t decide which color to order in the first place.
Wearing Bond-Eye Swim to Scenic Hot Springs
This fall, my friend Keti and I hiked to Scenic Hot Springs. I did a shoot here four years ago and it’s one of my favorite hot springs in Washington state. I knew my red Bond-Eye Swim suit would pop here.
We had the best girls day soaking, smoking and shooting content at Scenic Hot Springs. The hike is an absolute beast of a thigh burner, but it’s so worth it. Truly a perfect creative day.
Thank you Keti for the amazing photos. Follow her on Instagram @immigrant.photog. What hot springs should we adventure to next?
