Foggy forests, serene streams and Western Cultured cannabis — these are a few of our favorite things. Liz and I elevated our holiday weekend with a hike to Lake Olallie in the Cascade Mountains.
One of our favorite things is to hike in the rain. You see the forest the way it’s meant to be – lush. No need to pack an umbrella. The trees provide a canopy to keep hikers dry.
Water droplets hit the leaves, creating an ambient beat as we trekked up the muddy path. Russ, the dog, barked with excitement. We made several joint-stops before reaching Lake Olallie, and once there, rolled one more. After lighting up the moment we chowed lunch and caught up lakeside. Days like this are what the Pacific Northwest is all about.
How did you spend your holiday? Did anyone else take their hike to the next level?
