Yes, anyone can be a cannabis feminist
Don’t let the feminine aspect fool you. If you support cannabis, anyone can be a Cannabis Feminist. I recently attended one of their Happiest Hours and spoke with founder Jessica Assaf about femininity and her favorite flower.
So what is Cannabis Feminist? It’s a community to celebrate the female flower and her ability to heal the world. This women-run organization is on a mission to transform cannabis into a universal wellness program and empower women to lead the industry.
The idea sparked in Jessica once she moved to Los Angeles. After spending eight years on the east coast, she needed to find a community of like-minded women who support cannabis. “This desire to create a safe space where we could all experience the benefits of cannabis together as a bonding activity,” Assaf said, “Through those own circles women started to bring their own products. I noticed women wanted to lead, and it turned into something so much bigger.”
For Jessica, and a lot of other people, the plant helps embrace the feminine energy in all of us. She describes it as a gateway to new feminist. It’s not about division of women and men, it’s about harnessing the femininity in all of us. “We have a masculine and feminine,” she said. “Cannabis allows us to embrace that feminine power.”
Can anyone be a Cannabis Feminist? Of course! If you believe in the power of cannabis and enjoy celebrating femininity, you’re already a Cannabis Feminist.
While Jessica started this journey solo, she’s since been joined by a few other females. Laura Albers, Jackie Mostny, Galia Benartzi and Susan Kaplow all contribute to this XX empowering team.
If you want to learn more about Cannabis Feminist and attend upcoming events, visit cannabisfeminist.com. They host all-gender cannabis circles, bake sales and just recently did an educational event at an elderly home. All are welcome to embrace this plant, and we hope to see you sitting at future circles!
