Don’t just smell the wildflowers, smoke them too

Do you ever meet friends on Instagram and they turn out to be just as wonderful in real life? I have, and can’t wait to share the story of my wildflowers photo shoot with the talented Justin Krompier. Justin shoots predominantly landscape and lifestyle photos, but his portraits of wanderbabes in the mountains caught my eye. So when he and his van were just passin’ through Wallace, I jumped at the chance to work together.

One of the things I love best about living in the mountains is the abundance of wildflowers. From May through September colors change from white and yellow to pink and purple. Flowers like foxglove, daisies, lupine and wild sweet pea cover the hills. I’ve tried lifestyle content with my camera on a tripod, but it’s never the same as working with a photographer, especially when it comes to cannabis content. So for this shoot, I knew exactly the hill for the perfect golden hour light.

PLUGplay takes fun seriously. So when they reached out to parter on their Washington State launch I didn’t hesitate to go hiking. One of my favorite things to do is play in the mountains. The Pacific Northwest is packed with scenic smoke spots and cannabis keeps me plugged in on the trail.

I called up my friend Keti, a fellow wander babe, who suggested Lake Ingalls. Its vibrant fall colors pair well with pot, which amplifies the epic views. We filled our bags, loaded the car and definitely couldn’t forget the plugs for an unforgettable day with PLUGplay. As an added bonus, Sarah—a fellow cannabis creative—just moved from Michigan to Portland, so she met up with us too for her first Washington State hike.

Several years ago I discovered Huxton. This Arizona-based brand kicked off their entry into the cannabis space with stunning, chic accessories and to this day, I still use their backpack. As the brand evolved, they’ve since launched a line of pre-rolls and I couldn’t be more excited to see them in Washington State.

Cannabis Essentials for a Pot Girl Summer

I recently teamed up with my friend and childhood neighbor Courtney Jette to collaborate on a summer photo shoot. Courtney is a talented photographer with a slew of vintage gems for her retro styling and set design The Red Clutch. So when titling this shoot, it only feels right to call it a pot girl summer.

I love all seasons but summer is by far my favorite. Hot weather, long days and swimwear as styling are just a few reasons it stands out. Throw in a poolside session and I’ll sit in the sun for hours. With so much time spent outside, it’s only natural to roundup a few of my favorite products for your summertime smoke out.

Heather Lake

High in the North Cascades at Heather Lake

My friend Keti and I recently set out to hike Lake Serene. After a few stops for coffee and gas, I plug in GPS and follow the map. Well, somehow the map takes us to a past hike and we find ourselves at the Heather Lake trailhead.

How? Seriously, did I not pay attention? Didn’t I pick the right location? At first I felt so mad at myself but everything happens for a reason. Lake Serene is a beast of a trail. We got a late start. Keti is slightly hungover. I guess this is the universe guiding our day!
