From Los Angeles to Brooklyn to Seattle and down to Portland, it was so fun to see my friends Sarah and Melissa in the PNW last weekend. While our time was quick it included a lot of catching up, nails, polaroids and pot around Portland.

We all love girls who smoke weed, but what about guys who smoke weed? They don’t get as much love on the ‘Gram. Well I’m about to change that!
Today we’re puffing around Portland with Chuck. Standing tall at 6’6″ this red headed rocker is my friend Glynis’ baby. Literally. Chuck is her son. So we smoked tough and talked amongst the flowers on how music helps his music.
Missy Elliot once rapped “pass that Dutch.” While some say the context is a spliff or blunt, I like to believe Missy’s a woman of good taste. She’s clearly referring to the Dutch Treat strain.
Rogue River Botanicals’ Dutch Treat strain especially stands out. This sativa-dominant hybrid tests around 24% THC and 1.4% CBD. It provides euphoric, uplifting and creative effects.
When your girl says she “wants the D” she most likely means she wants Sour Diesel by Rogue River Botanicals.
This is an invigorating sativa-dominant strain. The byproduct of Chemdawg 91 and Super Skunk, it has a pungent diesel aroma with earthy undertones. The strain tests between 19% and 25% THC, with high amounts of Myrcene, Pinene and Limonene.
Oregon’s recreational market is in full swing. While there’s a slew of shops, one in particular stands out — Serra Cannabis Eugene.
A self proclaimed modern druggist, Serra has locations in Portland, Belmont and Eugene. The shop has Mid-century decor and minimalist design. The ambiance is similar to a high-end fashion boutique or salon. It’s clear — Serra is not your average pot shop.
What happens when two of my favorite strains collide? The result is Silvertip, an insanely potent yet well balanced sativa-dominant hybrid.
With genetics like Granddaddy Purple and Super Silver Haze, you know this strain hits hard. Silvertip starts with a relaxing head high, then progresses to more euphoric effects. The high lasts a couple hours, but being sensitive to indicas (or at least that Graddaddy Purp), Silvertip left me couchlocked towards the end.
Puff, puff, PDX! Last weekend Chrysta and I embarked on an Oregon road trip from Seattle to Eugene.
Our adventure started later than planned. Chrysta’s van battery died, then upon jumping her car realized my front headlight burnt out. Undeterred after minor mechanic work, we left Seattle around 9 PM. On the bright side, the late departure helped us beat traffic. Well, for the exception of a tanker truck flipped on the highway closing four lanes of traffic…
